Key Highlights Of This Software GPS Speedometer: Odometer HUD

GPS Speedometer is an accurate speed tracker, digital odometer and HUD speedometer that works 100% offline — no internet, no account, only one permission (location).

Whether you drive a car, ride a motorbike, cycle or sail, this GPS speed tracker shows your real speed measured by satellites, independent of your vehicle's dashboard.

MAIN FEATURES

• Analog + digital speedometer — a beautiful gauge with a smooth needle and a large digital speed read-out you can read at a glance
• km/h, mph and knots — one tap switches the speed units, so it works for cars, bikes, boats and running
• HUD mode (head-up display) — mirrors the screen so you can place the phone under the windshield and see your speed reflected on the glass at night
• Speed limit alert — set your own limit; the screen flashes red and the phone beeps the moment you exceed it
• Trip meter & odometer — distance, maximum speed, average speed and moving time for the current trip
• Trip history — every trip is saved on your device; review, or delete trips at any time
• GPS accuracy indicator — always know how good your satellite signal is
• Keeps the screen on while measuring, dark battery-friendly design
• Works on old phones (Android 4.4+); everything except the map runs with no connection

PRIVACY FIRST

Your location is used only on this device to compute your speed. Your position, your trips and your track are never uploaded, shared or sold: they stay in the app's local database and you can delete them at any time. The Map tab downloads map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you look at an area for the first time — that request carries the map square, not your identity. The app also sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports (Google Analytics and Crashlytics) so we can see which screens matter and fix what breaks; those contain no location and no personal data. No account is ever required.

WHO IS IT FOR?

• Drivers who want to verify their car speedometer (dashboards often over-read by 5–10%)
• Motorbike and scooter riders with a broken or inaccurate speed gauge
• Delivery and ride-hailing drivers who need a trip odometer and distance log
• Cyclists, runners, skaters, boaters — anyone who wants to know their real speed

TIPS FOR BEST ACCURACY

• Use outdoors with a clear view of the sky; GPS speed is typically accurate within 2–5 km/h
• The first fix can take up to a minute after you open the app
• Keep the phone mounted; accuracy is shown live next to the GPS status

SAFETY DISCLAIMER

Do not operate or interact with this app while driving. Set your units and speed limit before you start moving, mount the device securely, and always obey local traffic laws and posted speed limits. GPS speed is informational and can differ from your true speed; it is not a legal defence against speeding tickets.

What’s new

v1.1.1 — fixes the blank map.

• The map is drawn as soon as you open it, no waiting for a GPS fix
• It opens at the last position your phone remembers
• With no internet it now says so instead of showing an empty frame
• Added anonymous usage stats and crash reports so we can fix things faster

Your position and your track still stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere.
